We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.

The short explanation of this alert was:

On November 7, Michigan voters will decide the fate of the so-called “Michigan Civil Rights Initiative” (MCRI), the anti-affirmative action ballot initiative proposing an amendment to the state constitution, sponsored by California businessman Ward Connerly. Connerly's MCRI would end equal opportunity and affirmative action initiatives in higher education, employment, and contracting in Michigan.  Recent polls show that once voters are educated about the intent and potential consequences of MCRI, they will likely oppose the constitutional amendment. Take the pledge to oppose this so-called civil rights initiative. Simply read the pledge below, fill out your information in the form on the right, and click "submit". Join voices with the countless others who have taken the pledge to protect affirmative action!

Click the "tell me more" link below to learn more about the so-called "Michigan Civil Rights Initiative" and find out why YOU should take the pledge!
