Email your Representative and demand the vote for DC residents!
Our nation is the only democracy in the world that denies the residents of its capital city voting representation. The more than 600,000 people in Washington D.C. have lived and worked in our nation’s capital without voting representation for too long. In the next week, Congress could have another opportunity to right this wrong by passing the DC Voting Rights Act (H.R. 1433), a bill that would give the District of Columbia its first voting member in the U.S. House of Representatives. Congress must here from you TODAY to make a difference and ensure that D.C. residents are given this basic democratic right!
Use the form on the right and the letter below to email your representative NOW and urge him/her to quickly pass the DC Voting Rights Act (H.R. 1433).
This historic piece of civil rights legislation can finally realize America’s democratic ideals for the residents of Washington D.C.
Your voice can make the difference. Email your Representative now!

Subject: Support the DC Voting Rights Act (H.R. 1433)
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
Our nation is the only democracy in the world that denies residents of its capital voting representation in government. The more than 600,000 residents of our nation's capital - Washington, D.C. - still don't have this basic democratic - and American - right. But you now have a chance to right this wrong. Although I won't be marching with the thousands of concerned citizens on April 16th in Washington D.C., I am sending this message to let you know that I care and believe that DC residents should be given voting representation now. I urge you to vote in support of the DC Voting Rights Act (H.R. 1433)!
Sincerely,
